How to actually make a success of your VA business
I'm sure you know by now that in a previous life I was a teacher.
Now, I didn't LOVE trying to entertain 30 kids and being massively underpaid for it. But I did really love the actual teaching side of things, which is why I'm so bloody happy when I'm teaching and mentoring Virtual Assistants.
The thing I really love about teaching and mentoring is that there's a very clear line from start to success. And with 6 years of experience in the VA world, I use the strategies that I KNOW work to help the lovely VAs I support 1:1 or in The Virtual Assistant Toolkit.
The thing is, I get so engrossed in the mentoring side of things ('this is what you need to do to make it work') because I know exactly what you need to do to make your VA business a success.
But there's actually a whole other side of success that's arguably far more important:
You've got to believe you can do it and then decide you're going to do it.
'That's ALL I need to do Amy?! Gadddddddddd...........'
On paper it sounds simple but actually truly believing you can do something takes work. But this work (mindset work, personal development work.....anything like that) is the most valuable work you can do.
Because success doesn't just happen to you. You decide to make it your reality.
And if you want people to take you seriously, you need to take yourself seriously first.
So to actually make a success of your VA business, you need to get yourself some mindset strategies. And you need to use these strategies every single day, even if you think you don't need them anymore.
To be perfectly honest, there isn't one right or wrong way you should do these things, but some of my favourite methods are:
My favourite mindset practices for VAs:
Writing in my journal daily (sometimes free writing, sometimes using prompts)
Creating and repeating affirmations
Vision writing (as if I'm actually living my dreams today)
EFT tapping
Using a vision board
Now this isn't to say that you should sit around and do mindset work all day. You absolutely need do take real action too! But feeling confident and capable really is the foundation of your success as a Virtual Assistant.
So, if you have a slither of doubt that you can make a real success of your VA business, let's stamp that nonsense out with a robust mindset practice.
